Spring 2009 Egress Press and Research assisted in a project for the Office of Development and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with artist and print maker Jay Ryan. Jay helped in making a print to support the University. He was joined by Diana Sudyka who worked on some creative endeavors of her own. Fall 2008 Laurie Godfrey, Assistant Director of Egress Press gave two presentations about Egress Press and the work we have created with our project artists at the Universidad Nacional Costa Rica (Heredia, Costa Rica) and the Escuela Casa del Artista (San Jose, Costa Rica).

Fall 2008 Mike Budai created a photo-lithograph with Egress Press as this years Egress Loves A.I.R. project artist. Mike is a printmaker/poster artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. To learn more about other Egress Loves A.I.R. artists and our collaborations with Artist Image Resource, click here.

2008 Bill Mathie, has organized the print exchange portfolio, A Visual History of the George W. Bush Presidency. This portfolio will use images and printmaking media to begin writing the history of Bush’s years in office.  All images in the portfolio will be inspired by specific news accounts from major newspapers/news agencies. Select participants include previous Egress artists Bill Fick, Scott Frish, John Hitchcock, Tom Huck, and Jay Ryan. Bill Mathie is a current professor of printmaking at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Spring 2008 Lisa Austin is an installation artist/sculptor based in Erie, PA, and is a professor of sculpture at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Diana Sudyka, is a printmaker, illustrator, and printer from Chicago, IL. During Diana’s visit to Edinboro University in Spring 2007, she made an intaglio print with Egress and gave a workshop on multi-color, multi-plate intaglio.

Fall Tom Huck

Spring Pennsylvania Print Symposium
@ Edinboro University of PA

In March 2006 Edinboro University of PA hosted the Pennsylvania Print Symposium. This years lectures centered around the watercolor woodcut techniques used by Japanese printmakers and made famous by the prints of Japanese Ukiyo-e artists of the Edo period.

Fall Mary Hood, is currently teaching printmaking at Arizona State University at Tempe. Mary made a print with Egress Press during the Fall 2005 semester. She also gave a slide lecture on her work.

Spring Bill Fick, Printmaker from cockeyedpress.com, visited Edinboro University March 3 - 6 2005. During his visit, Bill gave a slide lecture on his work and made an original lilthograph with Egress Press.

Jay Ryan, Chicago based poster artist and founder of The Bird Machine, came to Edinboro University November 19-21, 2004. For More Information Click Here.

Chris Baughman flash animation web designer, Edinboro alumni, gave a lecture in art in web design using flash animation.
Chris is a flash animation expert, he works for M3 Media group. He was an active animation student and printmaker while at Edinboro. Egress press worked with Chris to produce several monotypes during his stay.

Consuela Metzger master bookbinder, visited EUP from the University of Texas at Austin where she teaches a graduate program in book binding and conservation. This visit coincided with a book project being completed by visiting artist Andy Farkas. Consuela gave a lecture on book arts and a demonstration of various techniques. Consuela has done extensive book conservation projects for the Huntington Library and the Library of Congress
