Statement
My work explores the sometimes-contradictory forces of feminine beauty and power and I use humor to lure the viewer into the work. I gravitate to printmaking as a way to reference and edit history, and also use digital media to “collaborate” with my mentors: a 15th century engraving can morph in PhotoShop and is recycled in the form of a hand-printed lithograph. Although my work is grounded in traditional, time-consuming and excruciatingly laborious media, use of digital media also serves to continually renew my approach to image making.
